CREW files complaints against Sean Hannity's Freedom Concerts and the Freedom Alliance

Yesterday, CREW - with the support of VoteVets.org - filed complaints with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) against conservative FOX News host Sean Hannity's Freedom Concerts and Lt. Col. Oliver North's charity, Freedom Alliance.

Hannity and North claim 100 percent of Freedom Concert proceeds are donated to Freedom Alliance's scholarship fund for the children of killed and wounded veterans, but CREW has found that is not the case.

In reality, Premiere Marketing organizes and promotes the concerts and then gives an unknown portion of the proceeds from concert ticket sales to Freedom Alliance's scholarship fund. It just so happens that Premiere Marketing is run by Duane Ward, a long-time associate of North's, who also runs the Premiere Speakers Bureau, which represents both Hannity and North in setting up their highly paid speaking engagements. Pretty cozy.
