Health Insurer Cigna's Second-Quarter Profit Surges By 60%; Tops Analysts' Estimates Health insurer Cigna Corp. will remain in the spotlight on Thursday in healthcare sector after the firm posted a 60 percent rise in profit in the second quarter that topped estimates. Net income in the second-quarter increased to $435 million, or $1.58 a share, compared to $272 million, or 96 cents a share, in the year earlier period.
