Panetta Says CIA Officials Have Misled Congress Since 2001 Central Intelligence Agency Director Leon E. Panetta has told lawmakers that CIA officials misled Congress "for a number of years" since 2001 , according to a letter released Wednesday from six Democratic lawmakers. The lawmakers say the CIA also withheld information about unspecified "significant actions." The letter didn't identify when Mr. Panetta made the statements or to what they referred. "This is similar to other deceptions of which we are aware from other recent periods," the letter continued

'Iran to publish detailed report on elections' Iran is to publish a report on its latest presidential election to clarify in full detail how the complaints about the election results were dealt with. The Guardian Council Spokesman Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaei told Fars news agency that the "detailed report" will be published for the first time in the coming days. The report is aimed at resolving any ambiguities some people may still see in the election process, the official said.

OMB Director Orszag: Recovery by the Numbers
In his post, Orszag highlights the testimony of OMB Deputy Director Rob Nabors on a new report from the Government Accountability Office. The report's conclusion? "GAO found that Recovery Act spending was ahead of schedule and was helping to mitigate the economic downturn."
