In plain English, it's off the table like Bush's impeachment was off the table. Judge Pelosi has spoken! And look for an outcry in the state of California and elsewhere against Pelosi and purses snapped shut for any donations to Pelosi.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday shot down calls for a formal congressional measure honoring Michael Jackson, warning a debate might air unpleasant "contrary views" about the late "King of Pop."
"I don't think it's necessary for us to have a resolution," the California Democrat told reporters, days after Democratic Representative Sheila Jackson-Lee held up her bill to honor Jackson's life and work.
"A resolution, I think, would open up to contrary views that are not necessary at this time to be expressed in association with a resolution whose purpose is quite different," she said, in an apparent reference to allegations of sexual abuse that swirled around the deceased pop superstar.
Read on.
As I said, she is adding fuel to the fire on this. And Pelosi should know better and will be embarrassing to her as a leader since she representing California. I might add that Congresswoman Lee who honored Jackson and support this resolution represents the state of Texas! This is bad for Pelosi. And I don't think that people who admire Jackson for his work will let this one go.
