Rove calls Maureen Dowd 'a bitter, twisted, deranged columnist' because she pointed out Bush liked his vacation days

Crooks and Liars:

Gee, Karl Rove seems to have taken umbrage at Maureen Dowd's latest column.
Especially this part:

So some respite from the pressure is clearly a healthy thing. Not as much respite as W. took, bicycling and vacationing through all the disasters that President Obama is now stuck fixing — spending a total of 490 days in the tumbleweed isolation of Crawford and rarely deigning to sightsee as he traveled the world. ...
What a relief to have an urbane, cultivated, curious president who’s out and about, engaged in the world. Not dangerously detached, as W. was, or darkly stewing like Cheney. Not hanging with the Rat Pack like J.F.K. or getting bored and up to mischief like Bill Clinton.

Responded Rove, yesterday on Fox:

Rove: I think Maureen Dowd is a bitter, twisted, deranged columnist for the New York Times, who misses no opportunity to show her disdain for anybody on the conservative side of the aisle.

I actually went to an editorial board meeting at the New York Times and wasted a couple of bucks on some flowers to give Maureen Dowd at the meeting, so that it would give her a smile on her face, and that didn't even work. This is a dour, downbeat liberal. And, uh, it was an entertaining piece, I frankly agree with her that President Obama's entitled to go to New York and entertain his wife. I suspect I would have done it maybe just a little bit later in the year than now. But he's entitled. You do not want a president who feels confined in the bubble.

But why she felt so compelled to go out and trash somebody who did our country a great service for eight years and handled himself in an admirable fashion is just typical of Maureen Dowd's twisted, bitter little heart.

Rove is suffering from Rove's syndrome. Still trying to kiss up and protect his BFF Bush. This is all psycho talk by Rove but let's get a dose of reality check about the worse President ever that is the Vacation-in-Chief:

By the time he left office, George W. Bush had made 149 trips to and spent 487 days at Camp David, with another 77 getaways to (and 490 days at) Crawford. Toss in 11 visits and 43 days at his folks' compound in Kennebunkport, Maine and President Bush spent 1,020 days - *35% of his presidency* - getting away from the White House. There are 365 a year. If you multiply 365 days times 8, that will equal 2920. And let's not forget Bush spent 42% on vacation in his first 8 months in office in his first term according to the Washington Post.

President Jimmy Carter (D) Georgia:
79 Days (over 1 term - 4 years)

• President Ronald Reagan ® California:
436 days in his two terms

• President George H. W. Bush ® Texas:
543 days (over 1 term - 4 years)

• President William J. Clinton (D) Arkansas:
152 days (over 2 terms - 8 years)

And what about President Barack Obama? In his first 100 days in office, he's taken one weekend to go to Chicago and take Michelle out for Valentine's Day. This latest trip means Obama has taken off less than one weekend every other month since taking office, maybe six days total. Some quick math says that if he keeps it up, he'll have taken a total of 21 days by the end of his first year.

It's getting harder for Rove's lies to work as the truth comes out. Dowd is trying to change her position as she attack both Obama and Hillary for so long. Now Chris, Andra and others are acting like they said anything bad about Obama/Hillary. As the Bush suckers left the ship Karl Rove will the last man standing up for the War Criminals. Lieberman and Graham are assigned to stop the torture pictures and report from being release as they have to same Dick Cheney at any cost. Liz Cheney is lying so much she can't keep up with the lies. Fox News is losing billions still trying to keep facts from coming to light. O'Reilly is praying the Tiller Family doesn't sue him or Fox News.

It looks like the Democrats take less vacation days overall.

On the Gerbils days off 1020 days in 8 years
, and that is not including weekends, so excluding weekends, there are 261 working days, and 9 normal federal holidays, makes 251 working days a year.

That is 2.4 days a week or 9.58 days a month. OMG the guy only worked during half his term.

People should be furious. But seriously with 9/11 two overseas wars going on, a financial crisis.
If he were really running the country this would be outrageous.

But then again how many days did Cheney take off.

Pa...leeze! More than one week off a month during his entire term.

Jackie,
On Falafel, his blowing hot air, well....being a blowhard, is what amazes me he doesn't get in more legal trouble. Someone should sue his butt. That might tone down all the vial poison and anger that radiates off of the Faux Nutwork.
