More TMZ updates on the death of Michael Jackson
(h/t TMZ):
LA cops meet with Jackson family:
We've learned at least 5 detectives from LAPD robbery/homicide met with members of Michael Jackson's family at Michael's Holmby Hills home.
Sources tell us both the cops and family had requested the meeting. The family wanted to know about "the circumstances surrounding Michael's death." The cops wanted information that could help them determine what killed Michael. We're told Katherine, Joe and several brothers were present.
The meeting is over -- one of the cops just told us he believes "no crime" was committed inside Michael's home.
Michael Jackson's doc quit medical practice:
We just got a letter that Michael Jackson's doctor sent to his patients 11 days ago, announcing that he will be indefinitely leaving his medical practice.
Dr. Conrad Murray sent the note on his letterhead from his medical practice in Las Vegas. He says, "I am deeply saddened to leave you at this point, but please know my absence is not permanent." He continues, "In my absence, I will continue to manage the practice, and be involved as much as possible but from a distance."
The letter says "My absence is not permanent."
We're told AEG -- the company that was putting on the London concerts -- put Dr. Murray on the payroll.
Here is Murray's letter.
He's presumably the last person to ever see Michael Jackson alive -- Dr. Conrad Murray
On a side note: LAPD just announced they still have not spoken to the elusive doctor. Also, the reason they towed Murray's car from MJ's house last night is because "it might contain evidence."
Coroner: No foul play
The coroner said the cause of death was deferred because additional testing -- including toxicology and other tests -- is needed. It will take 4-6 weeks to complete.
There was no trauma to Michael's body and "no indication of foul play" -- but he said Michael had been taking "some prescription medications."
Finally, according to TMZ website, the Jackson family would possibly fight for custody for Jackson's two children if Jackson's ex, Debbie Rowe, pursues full custody.
And this from USA Today.com:
Amazon.com was sold out of its supply of Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 CDs and DVDs within minutes of media reports announcing his death and it then saw sales of mp3 downloads begin to spike. By late Friday afternoon, Jackson-related product sales at the company's music store accounted for 19 of the top 25 best-selling CDs; the top seven DVDs; seven of the top 10 mp3 albums; and six of the top 10 mp3 songs — roughly 60% of all music sales.
Even a collection of Jackson Five Christmas songs made the top-25 CD list, which was topped by a 25th anniversary edition of Jackson's Thriller.
Barnes and Noble's website and retail stores also reported being sold out of most Jackson products.

Lisa Marie came out and said she feared the same fate for Michael as her Dad.
She obviously saw this coming.
People had the same theory about Lisa Marie as Elvis' daughter and looking so much like her father. After all, Lisa Marie went into the music industry, an industry that Elvis did not want her daughter to get into, according to what he told his then wife Priscilla Presley. Like Elvis, Michael Jackson had a choice in his life. Unlike Elvis, Michael spend almost all of his childhood in the music industry. Michael never had a normal life.
Again, there is too many speculations into Jackson's death. Until the toxicology results is revealed and the doctor who may have been last to see Jackson, I am reserving my thought on how Jackson died. I am glad that I was lucky enough to see two of Jackson's concerts.
