Lakers-Magic: What a game! Open thread.

Congratulations to Kobe and the LA Lakers on their 15th championship. Kobe won his first NBA ring and this one without Shaq.Even Shaq congratulate Kobe on Twitter. “Congratulations kobe, u deserve it,” O’Neal said on Twitter page. “You played great. Enjoy it my man enjoy it.” P.S. Great disappointment for Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic. But, they will be back and they are a young team. Enjoy this video:

It's too bad you turn on the news to see cars being tipped over and bonfires, and this is getting more coverage, and more attention than the actual event of the Lakers themselves.
Actually that's how I found out this morning I turned on the news to check the bus stop forecast and here's what's going on in the streets of LA, a riot? What happened? I thought, what horrible event happened there? Then it was the sports guy saying the Lakers won and this is how they celebrate. I wish people would find better ways to celebrate something good besides doing mayhem.

TGCN as announced LA can't afford a celebration so the people had their own. Now I know with a large group of people most think of riot or protest but in California is make your own celebaration for happiness. Each game the Lakers had to earn and they worked hard. The Lakers should have played the Cavs. but maybe next year. Kobe earned his money and then some. He's come a long way and grown to be a great ball player and a good person. Now it's own to the next sport as we know the Lakers will go to the White House this year. Maybe Kobe and Barack can do a one on one and see who's the best?

Jackie,

Unfortunatley what is being shown on the news looks like a riot, tipping cars over, starting fires.

People have to think of less destructive ways to celebrate, rather non-destructive, this kind of bad news that takes away from all the teams hard work, and all the news all over the country is focused on the negatives.

I saw the seen on TV and TGCN your right, but in defense the city said they couldn't afford a Parade so looks like the wackos took over. Past Laker wins have always been planned events and people didn't act like this. But these are changed times and money is short. Remember on those with money could go to the games and the rest had to watch on TV. Some Californians are used to Parades to get close to the players. But still there is no reason to destroy property.
