Santelli on tea bagger protests: ‘I’m pretty proud of this.’

Thinkprogress:
In February, former derivatives trader and current CNBC host Rick Santelli famously called for a Chicago tea party to protest Obama’s housing plan. Now, Santelli’s rant has helped spawn disingenuous “grassroots” tea party protests across the country. This morning on CNBC, Santelli squawked about how proud he was of his followers:
SANTELLI: I’ll tell you what. I think that this tea party phenomenon is steeped in American culture and steeped in American notion to get involved with what’s going on with our government. I haven’t organized. I’m going to have to work to pay my taxes, so I’m not going to be able to get away today. But I have to tell you, I’m pretty proud of this.
“You’re like a cultural phenomenon at this point,” CNBC host Joe Kernen told Santelli.
Update: A tea party protest outside the White House in Washington, D.C. was shut down by police after a demonstrator threw a package over the fence onto the White House lawn. The package was removed after being approached by -- a robot. Part of the White House was in temporary lockdown, according to MSNBC.
A side note to teabagger wingnuts: Obama's tax cuts to 95% of American families goes into effect today.
From the White House website:
The President went through the tax changes enacted just in these past few months, including: 1) The Making Work Pay credit for 95% of American families; 2) allowing small businesses to offset their losses during this downturn against the income they’ve earned over the last five years; 3) a $2,500 tax credit for all four years of college; 4) the $8,000 for credit for first-time home buyers. He also made clear that while the tax code is being made right, the federal government will also do its part to tighten its belt, reiterating that his Administration has identified two trillion dollars in deficit-reductions over the next decade: "That’s why we’re cutting programs that don’t work, contracts that aren’t fair, and spending that we don’t need."

Rick just keeps making a fool out of himself but it's the sign of the times. Let's see how the Executives of NBC think about their Economic spoke person now.

OMG. That is the understatement of the century, this one and the last century!!

Mama predicted that in 2003 in a speech she gave before the war started.

Mama said in 2003 that Reagan bankrupted the Soviet Union, and the Middle East would bankrupt us next.
