Halliburton earnings drop 35% as drilling activity declines

Bad news for Darth Cheney..

Halliburton Co. reported a 35% drop in first-quarter earnings as a sharp decline in U.S. drilling activity showed no sign of reversing.

The decline in oil and natural-gas drilling in North America has been faster than most in the industry predicted last fall. There were 975 drilling rigs operating in the U.S. as of Friday, less than half the number running in September, according to oil-field services firm Baker Hughes Inc. It was the first time the rig count had dropped below 1,000 since 2003.

The Sharks are starting to swim around Halliburton and will take them over now that Darth Cheney has no power. Cheney is busy wheeleing around his his wheele chair trying to keep taps on President Obama. His spys aren't giving him enough information. Cheney didn't know the memos would be released and now he's in hot water after he gave the Fox News reporter the heads up that he signed the torture order and would do it again.

Wow, if it drops another 635%, then maybe the Canary Islands will have to cut back on spending.
