Burris mum about plans to run for Senate seat.


MASCOUTAH -- U.S. Sen. Roland Burris said Monday he still has not decided whether to run for election to the U.S. Senate seat ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich appointed him to fill -- and also is accused of trying to auction off.

Burris, who spoke during groundbreaking ceremonies for Mascoutah's $55 million high school building, promised reporters he will make a decision before the Democratic primary scheduled for February. He has not raised any money for a run.

"I'm getting adjusted to the United States Senate," said Burris, who Blagojevich appointed Dec. 29 to fill the seat vacated after Barack Obama was elected President.

Burris looked only for the title for his gravestone, now he sees how much extra free money he can get he now wants more.
