Notice that Barney nor Mrs. Beasley didn't get book deals within the 8 years in the White House and after these two dogs left the White House. And Bo made his debut to the White House on Tuesday and gets a book deal. The real question: Will there be a paw print on Bo's first book and who is Bo's agent? ;-)
The Hill:
Barack Obama isn’t the only author in his family. The first pup, Bo Obama, just inked his own book deal.
Mascot Books will publish Bo, America’s Commander in Leash, a children’s book, next week.
According to the publisher’s website, the book will follow “Bo on an exciting adventure as he learns all about the White House and experiences the traditions that make it such a special place.”
According to Sky News, Mascot Books has been researching the book for two months, well before the Obamas had even settled on a pooch.
Commander in Leash will feature “special appearance[s] by President Obama, Michelle Obama, Senator Ted Kennedy, and Vice President Joe Biden!” according to Mascot’s website. Kennedy facilitated the Obamas' acquisition of Bo, as the Portuguese water dog came from the same breeder as Kennedy's.

I hope they donate the proceeds to the ASPCA. This way, it will shut the griping up about the Obamas not adopting from a shelter.
I read Bo already has good manners, stands and sits when the young ladies do. However, I hope he takes a swim in the WH fountain, this will set the right wingers' tongues a-waggin'.
(You think someone would have offered those Bush dogs a tell-all deal.)
First we must remember this is Bo's book and yes donations to the ASPCA and other animal groups but Bo should keep enough for himself. Bo Obama is making history like his owner. Kids all over the world will learn the life of the White House dog Bo Obama. As for him swimming well it might be good now but he will be to big later. I wonder if the Bush's still have their dogs? After Barney biting the reporter I wonder if they sent him off. As for the Obama's not getting a shelter dog I might ask why this wasn't brought to the attention of the Bush Family who brought two dogs and neither from a Shelter. What about that question to the Animal Lovers and even the ASPCA. The the rules only for President Obama and not other President. Yes Bill Clinton didn't get Buddy from a Shelter and neither did Reagan, Bush Sr or GW.

And I am sure Barney could tell all about his master, the Gerbil: his drinking, his weed, his Bushisms, Dick's secret and missing emails, and so on. Come on, Barney. Get your book out before the Gerbil's My Pet Goat memoirs.
