John Dean weighs in Hersh's claim that Cheney ran a covert assassination ring.

Crooks and Liars:

Keith's report on Seymour Hersh's claim that Dick Cheney was running a covert assassination ring out of the Vice President's office with no Congressional oversight called the Joint Special Operations Command. The CIA denies the allegations. Keith's opening and Howard Fineman's slant are in the clip above and Howard Fineman states that even with the denials the CIA was not willing to dismiss Hersh's claim out of hand. He also thinks this may give some more creedance to Pat Leahy's call for a truth commission and find him some more support for it.

John Dean weighed in on the legal implications for the Bush administration as well as the CIA.

I'll start with the President's 8 year lie the US doesn't torture or transport kidnapped detainees. Oops that was found to be a complete lie. Next Saddam has WMD's and developing a Mushroom Cloud, Oops that's a lie too.

Now to US History on does the US hire/operate assassinations.

Prescott Bush formed an assassination term of Nazis from South America to assassinate FDR.

JFK assassination squad was made up of CIA/Cuban Communist/Mafia.

Ollie North formed the assassination squad for assassination in the Iran-Contra Affair with exchange for weapons.

So to the question as to weather the US and Dick Cheney would have an assassination squad looks like he could. We're heard many World Leaders over the years say the US has people to assassinate them. Even the wacko Paster on TV called for the assassination of Hugo Chavez and the Iran President.

We've learned our President/Vice President over the pass 8 years were complete liars and now even the World can't trust the USA. I know I don't trust our Leaders on face value anymore. It's actions that have to been seen now.
