NEW YORK (WPIX) -- The wife of Bernie Madoff, the man accused of swindling investors out of billions in a massive Ponzi scheme, apparently pulled $15 million out of a brokerage account shortly before her husband was carted off in handcuffs, according to officials.
Ruth Madoff withdrew $5.5 million on Nov. 25 and another $10 million on Dec. 10, Massachusetts securities officials said.
Madoff was arrested Dec. 11, a day after investigators said he confessed to his sons that he swindled investors out of large sums of cash.
Her withdrawals were made public in a complaint filed against Cohmad Securities, a Massachusetts based firm partly owned by her husband. Officials in the state are seeking to revoke the license of the company after it failed to comply in the Madoff investigation.
Secretary of State William Galvin said that for years, Cohmad Securities received monthly payments that totaled $67 million for "professional services," "brokerage services" and "fees for account supervision" from Madoff.
Officials are trying to determine what Ruth Madoff did with money she withdrew from the account. So far, she has not been indicted.

Two daily wire transfer reports attached to the complaint only [see pics above] noted the amounts, dates, Ruth Madoff's name and the word "outgoing." Names of the beneficiaries and the account numbers were deleted for privacy reasons, said a spokesman for the Massachusetts securities office.
The $10-million transfer came on top of a $5.5-million transfer on Nov. 25 from what were called "Madoff-related accounts" held by the investment company Cohmad Securities Corp.
On a side note: Cohmad refused to provide all of the daily wire transaction reports and copies of its general ledger of its entire time period requested.

Now lady Madoff has been very busy and this isn't the first time. Bernie knew he would get caught so she has been taking money out for a long time and tucking it away in a safe place. Look Madoff has powerful friends that have done the same thing on a bigger scale. Madoff was part of the inter circle of the Republicans when the plan to take over the White House the the US Economy. Madoff held Bush/Cheney steal the election in 2000 and 2004. He will not fall on th sword he will get a slap on the hand and just live off his stolen money. Now his victims will look for the taxpayers to give them back their money. Greed is Good with Republicans.
