Obama to hold news conference on Monday

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama will hold a news conference Monday, his first since taking office Jan. 20, the White House said.

The news conference, which comes as Obama has launched an all-out push to sell a massive economic stimulus package, will be held at 8 p.m. EST.

Obama is pressing Congress to pass a roughly $800 billion stimulus package that he says is urgently needed to help rescue the economy from its worst recession in decades.

The plan is facing resistance from Republicans who contend it is loaded with unnecessary spending that would bloat the deficit.

We've heard from all the anaylsis, Law Makers and wing nuts. President Obama will now allow the American people to know who is for helping the taxpayers and who isn't. Law Makers from States that are losing everything now have to decided if they would rather still attack the President or help their voters. You thought the election in 2008 was change you haven't seen anything yet. What's good is President Obama is working with all Parties so we will still have our three Party System.
