Breaking G-Rod and his chief of staff arrested for attempt to auction Obama's Senate seat.

And that is why the Feds secret taped G-Rod? He was going to auction Obama's Senate seat to the higher bidder in exchange for the firing of editors in the Tribune company and compaign contributions: A quid pro quo.

On a side note: G-Rod is currently under investigation in the connection with now convicted businessman Tony Rezko.

Caught on FBI wiretap saying seat is 'a f*cking valuable thing'
Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was unexpectedly taken into federal custody Tuesday morning on corruption charges related to his appointment of President-elect Barack Obama's replacement in the Senate.

"Governor Blagojevich has taken us to a truly new low," US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald said in a news conference Tuesday, accusing the governor of overseeing a "political corruption crime spree."

Referring to Illinois' most famous political export, Fitzgerald said Blagojevich's exploits "would make Lincoln roll over in his grave."

A 76-page FBI affidavit reveals a scheming and rather profane Blagojevich (he dropped variations of "fuck" 18 times in the conversations detailed) who was consumed with using his ability to fill Obama's seat to advance his own goals. Blagojevich is furious at his apparent inability to squeeze any perks from the president elect.

The affidavit recounts a Nov. 10 phone call where the governor tells his chief of staff and other aidesthat he had been told to "'suck it up' for two years and give this "motherfucker [the President-elect] his senator. Fuck him. For nothing? Fuck him.'"

Read on.

Here is Fitzgerald's press release.

Update 2:

Fitzgerald lays out his case against Governor Rod Blagojevich and his Chief of Staff John Harris. The complaint also claims Blagojevich considered trying to get an ambassadorial appointment, a lucrative position with a non-profit corporation or well-paying employment for his wife in exchange for the senatorial appointment. Blagojevich's chief of staff, John Harris, also faces federal charges of solicitation of a bribe and mail fraud in the case.

Prosecutors accuse the governor of seeking a Cabinet-level appointment in the new Obama administration [and thought he could get out of his ties to Rezko case if he was no longer Governor] or a lucrative union job in exchange for appointing a union-preferred candidate to President-elect Barack Obama's seat in the U.S. Senate.

Also, according to Fitzgerald, the governor was seeking for much higher position for his wife as a lobbyist.

Congrats to Fitz, his team, and the FBI!

Fitz gave a truly great press conference. What a Tiger! I am still stunned by the news. How LOW is it to try and sell Barack Obama's Senate seat! Down with the slime I'd say! BTW, the NYT had a PDF of the 76 page indictment on line. This is going to throw a real monkey wrench into politics! I thought that Blago was stalling with the Senate seat appointment and I couldn't understand why! Now I do!
Here's the Press Conference video:

Pat is back and so is Randall. Look SPB has been following the crimes of G-Rod and I know Fitz only indicts when he has a solid case. Now I remember in the Rezko case the garbage full of money but the Media never followed. Pat should be tapped for a higher position and maybe the criminal Law Makers would think twice about committing crimes. G-Rod is a piece of work as he would even take the Senate seat for himself if the price for paying for it was to low. Don't look for Lisa Lisa to get tapped as her record isn't clean and there is still a pending investigation on Lisa Lisa and her Father for their corruption.
Just think of it as Pat who is a work coholic and I know the GOP was digging really deep in hopes of bringing him down. Spitzer was brought down just before he stopped the Stock Market Crash and with the results millions of Americans and business and the World are in a recession that Spitz wanted to stop from happening. Look it's time Obama/Biden and AG Holder put Fitz/Randall in a position that would scare corrupt Law Makers and others from committing crimes.

Patrick Collins, the lead on the Gov. Orange Jumpsuit Ryan trial was on TV, saying that Fitz seemed angry for the first ten minutes or so of the press conference, which is out of character for him. Collins also said that they never had anything that good in the Ryan case as someone's actual voice recordings.

FITZMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Arrested Baloneybitch doesn't resign, I think the good people of Illinois should throw him out. It's time to get recall in Illinois.
