Talkleft:
Just when you thought it couldn't get any uglier:
A San Bernardino County Republican group has distributed a newsletter picturing Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on a $10 bill adorned with a watermelon, ribs and a bucket of fried chicken.
A black member of the club said:
"This is what keeps African-Americans from joining the Republican Party," she said. "I'm really hurt. I cried for 45 minutes."
To its credit, the California Republican Party denounced the illustration.
Update: As noted in the comments, the picture is actually of a $10 food stamp.

That is dispicable. What ignoramouses there are in the GOP.
This is in such poor taste for adults, these GOP women are nothing but trophy wives who have never worked for a living, now all they do is play groups, lunches etc. Shop and redecorate and make vacation plans. If they got out in the workplace they would have to work with all kinds of people and depend on them to get their job done and they would not be as closed minded ignorant.
They really need to get out in the real world and out of their happy little la la land, out with the real people and work with them, not their safe little circle of friends, of course the thought of going outside their little niche is probably frieghtening to them.
To think in this day and age their are people that are this ignorant and out of touch and living in their own world.
I would expect this from the red states where the KKK is alive and well and possum stew is a staple.
I haven't seen anything this bad since seeing anti-Abraham Lincoln campaign materials from the 1860s.
This is not the way most Republicans feel. It's when you let those who hate inter and bring down the Values. I listen to alot of Republicans talk about their ideas an values but it's nothing like what's happening now.
I saw the woman on TV today who thought up this hate attack. Now she didn't think this was racist. This woman is well education and even President of her Republican Organization with members of all races. We watch History being made when Tiger Woods won the golf championship and was asked not to have fried chicken and watermelon for the evening meal. The US was out raged with those hateful words yet it happens again with Senator Obama. I know our country is better then this one woman because I've met so many Americans who aren't racist. It was good to see the Republican Party step up to the plate in this matter.
