Miami-Dade judge resigns after being accused of indecent exposure.

What is happening with the state of Florida?

Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Douglas J. Chumbley resigned Thursday after he was accused of exposing his genitalia in a Starbucks bathroom stall at the University of Miami.

Chumbley, 51, is facing a misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure.

He was in his final months as a juvenile division judge after losing his election bid in August. Chumbley will not fight the charge.

Instead, said his attorney, Mel Black, he will enter a pretrial diversion program for first-time offenders and the charge will be dismissed. Usually, that means rehabilitation classes.

Chumbley is not admitting to the charge but resigned to ''avoid the stress on his family from the spectacle of a drawn-out trial,'' Black said.

The Miami-Dade state attorney's office, which filed the charge, did not specify who reported Chumbley after the Sept. 25 episode.

He announced his resignation Wednesday in a two-paragraph letter sent to the governor's office.
More on the story.

Why would he resign when so many Judges are doing the same thing and worse. Look people have to face the facts Judges are human and aren't what the seem to be. I worked in court and hear of a court near by where the Judge was hearing drug cases, during the break in the court session he was smoking drugs in his chambers. We saw Judges that sexually harrassed woman and so much more. This happens when the Leader doesn't care what the workers do.
