ABC to viewers: Don't "watch" Obama's 1/2 hour special tonight.

TPM:
ABC, which is the only one of the networks that won't air Barack Obama's unusual 30-minute special during prime-time tomorrow [Wednesday], has taken a bit of a swipe at Obama and told its viewers not to watch Obama's appearance.

A source sends over some video he took of an ABC ad that the network has now aired for its program "Pushing Daisies," which airs tomorrow night at 8:00 P.M., the same time as Obama's special. The ad urges viewers to ignore the other networks' programming at that time.

Keep in mind that ABC waited too late to air Obama's 30 minute special.

Obama's 30 minute special will be focus on the economy.

More on Obama's hectic schedule to final race:

He is also giving an interview to a prominent network news anchor, and appearing with fellow Democratic star Bill Clinton at a rally that is timed to hit the late-evening news. Obama is campaigning Wednesday in North Carolina and Florida.

During a stop in Raleigh, N.C., he will be interviewed by Charlie Gibson of ABC's "World News."

Later, in Florida, Obama will tape an appearance on Comedy Central's irreverent "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart. The segment will run at 11 p.m. EDT. During the same 11 p.m. slot, Obama is scheduled to appear at a campaign rally for the first time with Bill Clinton.

On Thursday, Obama is giving interviews to Brian Williams, anchor of NBC's "Nightly News," and to Rachel Maddow, the host of an evening show on MSNBC.

Obama's "infomercial" is a throwback to a political advertising strategy common in the 1950s and 1960s. And it marks the first such paid national political telecast since Ross Perot ran a series during his independent bid for president in 1992.

Remember Ross Perot?

Perot's paid programs, remembered for his use of charts and graphs, drew an average audience of 11.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Here is a segment of Perot's paid program:

ABC made a mistake and now they are paying for it. McCain could have had a 6 minute Ad with the 150,000 he gave Sarah for her shopping spree. Now let's see how well Obama's Ad does. On ABC there will be Pushing Up Daisies which is very low in the ratings. Fox jumped at making a quick 1 millions. Looks like ABC is rich and doesn't need the money and are strong supporters of McCain/Palin.
