Ron Paul's convention might steal McCain's thunder.

The media is not paying attention to this. But, I am. As you recall, RNC is today through Thursday. Because of Hurricane Gustav, McCain and his crew decided to cancel the first day of events and trim down the event focusing on the national distaster. McCain may present his speech via satellite. Well, Ron Paul's convention still goes on as schedule. And Paul may be scene stealer this week. Wouldn't that be interesting? And the MSNBC story covering the rally is listed as a top story.

From MSNBC:

Almost 9,800 tickets had been sold for the Rally for the Republic, being held in Minneapolis, which seeks to bring together activists who are anti-war, anti-government regulation, anti-immigration, anti-taxes, anti-Federal Reserve, anti-outsourcing, pro-individual liberty, pro-civil liberties and pro-Paul.

The Ronvoys — fleets of buses and vans carrying Paul's loyalists — were to begin arriving Saturday. A few rally-goers planned to walk from Green Bay, Wis., and join up with Paul for the final miles of their Walk4Freedom. Other attendees are driving, carpooling or flying in for the convention alternative.

From Paul's website:

Paul’s message differs from both parties’ forerunning candidates. Paul speaks for limited government, a noninterventionist foreign policy, sound U.S. currency, closing our southern border, the right to keep and bear arms, promotes U.S. sovereignty over the U.N., bringing business and industry back to America, and restoring our Constitution and the rule of law once again in this nation, among other such necessary steps — before it’s too late for America.

The rally will be seen live on Tuesday at www.CampaignforLiberty.com.

It will be interesting to see how all this plays out. McCain might just give his speech from the Gustav Storm while leaving the voters to do nothing. Even Bush is milking this storm which will not be as bad as Katrina. You can't forget the thousands of poor people and Black people being shot on the bridge trying to run to safety and of course the lady in the wheele chair who died on TV. McCain is acting like he's all ready President. I laughed when he called Sarah his soulmate now you just have to wonder does anyone read anymore.
