Note to Obama: Job well done.

All I can say is wow. A history making speech. And MLK and other pioneers that broke barriers before Obama would be proud.

Obama's theme in his speech of unity and change reminds me of the excerpt lyrics and song that I heard years ago called "Optimism" by Sounds of Blackness:

"You can win as long as you keep your head to the sky."

I have to admit this has been fun, fun as someone from Illinois see someone from Illinois running for President, knowing all the speakers from the state....It's been all good.

The regular people speakers were great, Barney Smith saying he wants a president not interested in Smith Barney, but Barney Smith.
Whomever picked these people and refined their speeches etc. ...just a fantastic job of finding these people, working with them, refining their speeches etc. that campaign person has to be commended.

Long time GOP and former Bush voters now want Obama for President, the long time GOP who worked at the TV plant who lost his job, and helped pack up the plant to go to China......basically everyone was saying things were good, and the last 8 years of Bush put a kabosh on things.
Obama pointing out that 90% of the time McCain went with Bush, and the 10% chance he is going to change...
The Obama life story before he went on was good, showing how his family came from working class/middle class.

Kudos for Obama for pointing out he wants his daughters to have the same chance as everyone's sons. That helped with the women's vote and pointing out his emphathy and understanding of women's struggles, also how his grandmother worked her way up, and his Mom's struggles. That was a good way to reel in the Hillary supporters.

David Axelrod his campaign manager is a good choice, hard working intelligent man.

Yeah, all those "average" people were great, including the one who had voted consistently Republican since Nixon. That Obama would first help a Barney Smith, than a Smith-Barney was absolutely priceless.
I was very impressed by the 20 or so generals and admirals who came out and said that they were supporting Obama, that he would make a better commander-in-chief than hotheaded McCain.
I loved that Biden's son introduced his Dad, the other night, that story about his Dad's boss at the car dealership, who threw silver dollars on the floor for his employees to scrabble for made his Dad quit on the spot. Joe Biden only owns his own home and puts his family first. I think he is a terrific fit for VP.
I was really disappointed about Hillary, the crowd really gave her the kind of applause-that seemed to overwhelm Michelle's, BUT I think the Democrats chose well in Obama, I now believe that he would make a great commander in chief, that he could go eyeball to eyeball with Putin, or Amadinajad (sic?) from Iran.

I agree with you anon about Obama being a good commander in Chief, he will be better apt to deal with Chavez, Ahmadinejad, Medvedev, Kim Jong and all the rest.

What surprises me is how war happy "Mr Bomb Bomb Iran" is, and he was a Viet Nam vet? My Dad was too and he was so against any war after that, and he like so many, my Uncles, friends Dad's etc. I just don't get this Viet Naum vet being such a war monger.
Here we have Wesley Clark, Gulf war vet, who said he would use war as an absolute last resort.....and McCain ready and willing to get into another mess. If that alone does not scare people, I don't know what will.
