Three years ago, Pfc. La Vena Johnson of Missouri was found dead in Balad, Iraq, just a few weeks before her twentieth birthday. LaVena would have been twenty-three this month. LaVena's parents, Dr. John Johnson and Linda Johnson, and activist and retired Colonel Ann Wright, a diplomat in the State Department for sixteen years, spoke on Democracy Now to share more insight into LaVena's death and for a call for congressional investigation into LaVena's death. The Army ruled her death as suicide. LaVena's parents are convinced that LaVena was murdered and her death was a covered up.

Tnank you SPB for keeping us up dated about LaVena. I pray someone will step forward and tell the truth so LaVena can rest in peace. After Jan.20th I hope with the changes soldiers speak up and tell the truth. LaVena's Family have lost their daughter and nothing will change that but the truth of her dealth will allow them to have peace.
