COLUMBUS, Ohio — Both major party campaigns in Ohio are talking about the Barack Obama visit to the war zones and it's veterans on both sides that are on the front lines and doing the talking. Iraq War veteran Josh Mandel is a Lyndhurst lawmaker who says John McCain has the gut instinct needed to be Commander-In-Chief. A group of veterans stood on the statehouse steps with Republican organizers to say they believe in the Arizona senator's plan for the war.
Among the supporters was former prisoner of war Tom Moe, a Lancaster man who says McCain's experience as a prisoner makes the senator a better candidate.
"This is the kinda courage you develop by knowing you have a course that you deeply believe in," said Moe.
On the other side of the issue is Teresa Dawson. Her son served in Iraq and is now in Kuwait. "I think McCain is definately on the wrong track. I honor his service but he has an old school way of thinking and dealing with terrorism," said Dawson when she appeared at a pro-Obama event.
Veterans at that news conference said supporting Obama is a vote against Bush policies.
And while the debate rages, Ohio is one of the battlegrounds.

Obama 08!
This is an example of what has happen to our country. Look it's all about money. The Pentagon has an open bank from Congress to spend without accountability. As soon get kick backs why would they want that to stop. Generals and higher ranked officers are milking the system and if Obama gets in it stops. The regular soldier is getting nothing. Look we saw Generals play dumb while testifying under oath while being paid big bucks to lie about Pat Tillman's murder.
Yes even our Military officials can get brought as we see. Don't worry the troops on the ground know the truth. But it's a pay day for the higher ranks and the Pentagon has money to burn.
An E-3 reservist makes about $67 a day, just another day in Baghdad...how right you are, Jackie!
