Governor Schwarzenegger threatens state worker's paychecks over budget woes.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has threatened to slash the pay of 200,000 state workers until lawmakers pass a budget.

The executive order would only pay state workers the federal minimum of $6.55 an hour.

The workers' union spokesman Jim Zamora says there will be legal action if the Governor goes with this plan.

"It's not our fault that the budget deficit is $15 billion," Zamora says. "It's not our fault that the legislature and Arnold Schwarzenegger can't sit down and come up with a compromise to keep the state's business running."

Zamora says some of the workers would have to take an 80 percent cut in pay.

On a side note: California's minimum wage of $8 per hour. To add insult to injury, the Governor is slashing workers' wages instead of taking leadership to close the "Yacht Tax" loophole. All hell will break loose if Arnold signs that Executive Order.
