Ahmadinejad Scheduled Visit To New York; McCain's camp hit Obama.

TPM:

This news broke late yesterday, but people seem to have missed the domestic political implications of this: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad plans to attend the United Nations General Assembly in September.

In case you didn't notice, that will come right in the thick of the presidential campaign. And in a sign of what's likely to come during his visit, the McCain campaign is already hitting Obama over it this morning.

In an interview with Iranian state television, Ahmadinejad said that he will speak at the U.N. meeting about "ruling the world based on justice," adding that "any American government should understand that they should stop bullying and try to have interaction with Iran."

Talk like this -- and his expected kind and conciliatory words about Israel (not) -- is likely to set off a furious skirmish between McCain and Obama over their differences on Iran, right when the presidential race is at its hottest.

Indeed, this morning, the McCain campaign is quickly moving to use the scheduled visit to disparage Obama's support for negotiating with hostile foreign leaders. McCain campaign Internet guru Patrick Hynes emails over this:

Perhaps he and Senator Obama can finally have that heart to heart.

Smart move on Ahmadinejad's part.
As the Republicans put another set up together to embarrass the Iran President and make Americans look like idiots. Maybe McCain will ask Ahmadinejad to contribute to his campaign with all that oil money. Now Obama will be put in the spot to show just who he is and if he will bring respect and values back to America. Plus it gives hope to Bush making a bigger fool for himself and bringing down the US even deeper.

God really is helping American get Satan out of the United States. I hope Ahmadinejad tells the UN and the American people how grateful he is for the 7 years of business his country has been doing with the White House behind the American people's back. Yes and how Halliburton has been working with Iran since 2000. All this hate terrorist talk by the White House was a smoke screen and American brought it hook line and sinker.

I hope that Ahmadinejad had no speaking engagements planned at any Universities/Colleges etc.
After last years ordeal, it made the U. S. look like a bully and they were a lot more sympathetic to Ahmadinejad after that unforgivable attack on an invited guest. The whole world will be watching to see if something stupid and uncalled for with no manners what so ever will occur this year.
And then the touched up photos of the Iran missle test.........more embarrasment. Let's hope everyone is on their best behaviour and does not leave their manners and common sense at home during this visit, and let's not forget about calling Castro dead, and oh man, what other embarrassing moments happened......Cheney himself should fork over some of his own money to get some handlers for the Gerbil right before this event, so that he can be quizzed on current people, places etc...I am already getting nervous about this, and this is so close to the Caspian Sea Summit and the SCO Summit.....oh my, I am already nervous about all the possiblities of all that could go wrong with the Gerbil running off at the mouth etc....
