This video was too funny. And McCain's speech was awful. I am looking forward to Obama-McCain debate because McCain wouldn't know what to do without a teleprompter...
TPM:
If you were awful enough to delight in John McCain's prebuttal speech trainwreck last night, feast your eyes on the Fox News commentators trying to decide if it was just bad or downright terrible.

SP, If you think back to the 2000 Presidential election, 'W' came off very well during the debates. He did not sound anything like he did after he got elected. He had his sound bites in order and came off like a liberal leaning Republican. He said the kind of things that resonated with liberal left leaning Republicans and to some Democrats as well.
I've seen recent clips of McCain trying to sound like Ronald Reagan, which is who I think he'll try and impersonate during this campaign. Slowed down drawl. He will be coached and coached I have no doubt of that. He will be managed to the greatest extent possible. And some people will be fooled.
Anon,
You are right about McCain. However, keep in mind, unlike Reagan, McCain's downfall will be his temper. And he talks and acts on emotion. And that is what will do him in in a debate with Obama. Obama is a thinker and he does oral speeches very well. More importantly, Obama reached more to to the common folks that are struggling unlike McCain.
I was looking for Carter's remarks on Hillary. His point was that some people (racists) would never vote for Obama and there is a lot of animosity for Hillary that was orchestrated by the GOP smear machine headed by Karl Rove. Carter contended that the combination of these two groups was good enough to keep Hillary off the Democratic Presidential ticket. Stupid Bigots and Stupid Women-haters- can he really believe that represents a significant group of Americans? Maybe he does.
Anon your right with the comments you made. But you haven't seen nothing yet. The racist will come out strong and loud. There is nothing else to attack Obama with. He's a Freshman Senator with little background and he wasn't born during any Wars. Hillary had her share of problems too. She has the qualification and earned experience but it's the Clinton haters that spoke up. I'm Black and I support Hillary all the way win or lose. I've watched her 15 years and watched her work for the American people. I've just learned about Obama and I just judge a person on race. Obama will have to prove he's ready. Now the Media, DNC Law Makers and some Americans hate Bill Clinton. One could say because of the Monica case but looking at the all the Republicans sex scandals you have to wonder.
Hillary Clinton, I must say, sure looked VERY good last night. That Blue Suit she wore was very Presidential.
I've just heard on the news that she's given her staffers the pink slip. Many will be gone by June 15th. Staffers were in tears, so they said, but did not show.
They also said that she will have a big fundraiser party in DC soon. If I were Hillary, I would just break down in tears (privately). She has been so darn brave over these last weeks, when things were looking bad and the media were putting her down.
She was looking quite exhausted today. Who wouldn't be? I was hoping she might get the VP slot, but maybe it is for the best, as she would be the one to succeed the evil Dick Cheney. (And I don't say that lightly!)
I must admit that Barak and Michelle Obama have the same kind of charismatic glamour that Jack and Jackie did back in 1960. But that their home is right next door to Tony Rezko's still sticks in my mind rather strongly. I was glad SP put the global response to his nomination up. It is a good thing, a very good thing that he is inspiring so very many black young people. That is more wonderful than I can say. After seeing all these senseless child murders in Chicago, it is a very good thing.
The question remains: What does Hillary want? Does she want to be Secretary of State? Secretary of Education? Does she want to be in Obama's cabinet or remain as the Senator of New York? It will be a hard decision. Both she and Bill are a lot older than they were. I'm sure some of her more enthusiastic supporters like Terry McCauliffe will be pushing her to take it to the convention floor- and not concede. Women are a huge block of voters. But she is letting many of her campaign staff go as of this evening. So I guess we'll see.
Anon Hillary will not cry because she has nothing to cry for as she is the first Woman who ran for President that got the majority votes from the American people. Yes things have changed with both Parties and the Democrats have a new system that allows the Super Delegates to pick the nominee. It was set up in the 80's when Mondale ran for President. Now the popular vote doesn't count anymore nor does the public's choice. Things have a way of working out in the end. It's easy to fix the ballot but hard to come out a winner. Look at Bush in 2000 and 2004. The Republicans did every trick in the book to get a Republican President in office. Look at the end results, a recession, 12 Trillion dollar National debt, weak Military, torture Foreign policy and the worse corrupt Administration in the History of the United States. How you like those apples!!!
