Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has made 22 trips to Israel during the Bush administration, including this past weekend. Yet as Time's Jerusalem Bureau Chief Tim McGirk notes, "[S]he has little to show for it." There was "no fanfare, no motorcades snarling up the city's traffic," and she couldn't even book a room at her usual hotel, having to settle for a "less grand" one. Israeli TV announcers have even "coined her name as a verb, meaning to go endlessly around in circles, accomplishing nothing."

For 7 years the White House has said they would never recognize Hamas nor would they talk to them. Without the US involvement Israel has spoken to Hamas and came to a peace agreement. Now if only the Bush Administration had not gotten involved this could have happen long ago. It's proof that when the US is involved things get messed up. I can see the Middle East joining together as the US is left out. Now I must admit Israel was smart to use the US for money and Nukes and now turning their back on the US after they got what they wanted.
