Legislature approves unbalanced budget; G-Rod's $2 billion budget.

So much for a balanced budget.

State lawmakers approved a new state-spending plan worth $59.1 billion by their midnight deadline Saturday.

Democrats who control the Legislature voted for the budget they crafted without Republican input, even as they acknowledged it's not balanced. They said it's up to Gov. Rod Blagojevich, a fellow Democrat, to close a deficit of more than $2 billion with his veto pen.
