Former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who was forced from his job amid a controversy over the firings of federal prosecutors, has been hired to provide assistance to a special master on a patent case.
Gonzales will help former U.S. District Judge Layn R. Phillips oversee settlement talks in the case of a Texas company which claims banks such as Wells Fargo & Co., Citigroup Inc.'s Citibank and Bank of America Corp. are violating its patents for taking and transmitting digital images of checks.
Phillips, in an order signed yesterday, said he needed Gonzales's help because of the number of parties in the case and the "overall complexity of this litigation.''
. . . Special masters are hired in patent cases to help district judges with complex issues. In this case, Phillips was hired to handle settlement talks between DataTreasury Corp. and the banks.

What a resume and what a ride and fall of Gonzo. A Spanish kid who's family worked the fields was given an education. He moved up fast even given a degree. Making friends in high places who wanted to feel good about doing something for a minority. Gonzo was given a law degree and even appointed a Judgeship. Yes things were good as Gonzo left his family and culture behind. He married twice ( not a Spanish girl) and lived the American Dream and never looking back or even acknowledging he knew any Spanish people. Yes Gonzo did allow his sister Teresa continue to push drugs without being arrested. Gonzo moved in the White House after covering up for GW's DUI and other criminal records. His reward was moving to the White House. Yes he was used but he was part of the team. Then he was needed to be Attorney General just to sign orders directed by Karl Rove and Dick Cheney. Yes Gonzo the first Spanish Attorney General if in name only. Then came the fall out as the White House needed a scapegoat. Yes there was no more need for Gonzo so he was kicked out. Gonzo lost his wife and kids and everything that evil gave him. Now he's looking for a job after being kicked out from doing any speeches to Colleges. None of the Hispanic community speak to him and no Law Office wants him. Finally he's got a job given to him by a friend of a friend of a friend. Yes the job is nothing more then that of a law clerk part-time. Once the highest position in the Legal System only to fall to the lowest position and waiting to be indicted for lying under oath for the crimes he committed.
Oh how the Mighty have fallen. This is an example of what happens when you sell your soul to the Devil. Yes you do get the riches but you lose more in the end.
