By all accounts, Eliot Spitzer never imagined that Spitzer Enterprises would be his life’s work. His father Bernie’s real estate empire, the one he built from scratch, would finance Eliot’s ambitions. Not circumscribe them.
But that was then. This is now. And apparently, the deposed governor is adjusting.
Mr. Spitzer, who just a few months ago was said to contemplate White House ambitions, now ascends every weekday to the top of the Crown Building, according to sources familiar with the Spitzers. More precisely, the ex-governor reports to the 22nd floor of 730 Fifth Avenue, the French Renaissance-style masterpiece his father co-owns with the Winter Organization.
It’s apparently the closest thing to a nine-to-five job Mr. Spitzer has had since his hypocrisy and lust transformed him from a left-wing hero into the left’s own version of the Rev. Ted Haggard—a man guilty of doing that which he so publicly condemned.
But what, precisely, is Mr. Spitzer doing in his father’s office?
Mr. Spitzer wouldn’t tell us. A call to Spitzer Enterprises at 2:30 on Monday afternoon revealed he was there and in a meeting. He never called back.
But a real estate insider close to Bernie Spitzer said the family was trying to suss things out.

Most Americans don't know the background of Bernie Spitzer but we're paying him everyday that's why he's so rich. Bernie worked with people who had dreams and talent but was wise enough to sign a contract. Yes more of these people are died and Bernie didn't care what color you were either. During Bernie's young life he worked with everyone. Bernie has music rights, real estate and a famous international Law Firm of Wilentz, Goldman and Spitzer. For those who don't recognize the names on the Law Firm. Think Goldman Sachs and Supreme Court Chief Justice Wilentz that might help. The struggling artist of our pass were helped by Bernie Spitzer for little more then a piece of the royalties. Now one song that comes to mine is It's a Wonderful World and many old great songs by great artist.
As for the scandal I did notice how Jesus gave Mary with no problem as she was a prostitute, but Americans choose who they forgive. Eliot Spitzer is a man and will never be perfect, as some people are. As we see the so called perfect people end up with worse sins then Spitzer. We attacked Bill Clinton only to see other Law Makers bad conduct make Bill look like a saint. Woman seem to just quickly without thinking it was other woman who made the offer. It's not about Spitzer conduct it's about this rise to success and his wealth that brought him down. Even today people look at wealth of others to judge them. It's greed and jealousy that has infected America. No worries about the Spitzer Family for as long as Americans listen to those old great songs the Spitzer Family will be just fine. Unlike the crooks of today like Cheney and Rove who will find themselves broke and penniless. People still don't get it, wealth comes from the heart of giving not from stealing. Bernie help artist live their dreams by producing their songs and those people are all dead but their music is still enjoyed today.
