The same day a wake is being held for a retired state police official who hanged himself last Thursday, the New York Post reports his suicide note has been subpoenaed by a grand jury.
Attorney General Andrew Cuomo reportedly wants a grand jury to examine the five page note left by retired Major Gary Berwick, who was at one time the head of security for former Governor Pataki.
The Post reveals the panel was set up in March after Governor Paterson asked Cuomo to look into rumors that there was a rogue unit of state police that had gathered information on lawmakers for political purposes.
Berwick was reportedly concerned about the on-going probe.

Judge orders former state police colonel to hand over troopergate docs
ALBANY - A judge ordered the former state police colonel at the center of an investigation into possible political misuse of the department to turn over a slew of documents.
Daniel Wiese lost his battle to quash a civil subpoena from Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's office after state Supreme Court Justice Carol Edmead ordered him to comply.
Wiese must surrender any documents showing communication between himself and the state police, other public officials and employees, and members of the media.
He must also produce documents that reflect meetings or communications with state police, including diaries, journals, date books and calendars.
In arguing for the documents, Cuomo's office said the records will show what Wiese knew of state police interaction with high-ranking public officials, efforts to influence lawmakers and keeping files on public officials.
They will also show whether Wiese, who is close to former governors George Pataki and Eliot Spitzer, took steps to direct the activities of the state police, even though he was retired. Probers also want to know and whether the agency violated the privacy interests of public officials.
This officer knew the crimes and corruption of Republican Governor Pataki and that's why he killed himself. As for Spitzer if the Republicans has any corruption on his part it would have been all over the Media, why, because they only got his action of hiring a prostitute from a Republican in Florida. Gov. Pataki worked with Rudy and has been stealing committing crimes for a long time. One only need to ask by none of the Millions of dollars given for the health care of the NY Fireman/Police/ Public who were hurt during 9/11. Not a dime has gone to a single victim. Yes all that allotted money has gone in the pocket of Pataki/Rudy and friends. Gov. Pataki used his position for criminal acts for the 4 terms he was Governor of New York. Pataki was asked to run for President but he knew the stuff would come out and he could go to jail so he withdrew his name. Rudy took his changes knowing his mistress affairs would come to light. Notice how the New Yorkers had no problem knowing their former Mayor used taxpayers money for sex/sin while Spitzer had to resign. I can't wait until the New Yorkers find out about the 9/11 money that was stole and even the bombing of the WTC was planned by the US/Saudi Government's just to set up the illegal invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. That's why Bin Ladan isn't a big deal his name was just used as a front and Americans brought it hook, line and sinker. Michael Moore showed the US/Saudi/Bin Laden meeting just before the attack why because that's when the final plan. Yes it back fired.
