When it comes to the jury in the trial of Antoin "Tony" Rezko, it's hard to read the tea leaves, let alone the coffee-soaked verdict form.
Jurors left Wednesday without deciding the fate of the political insider but not before letting it be known that they had been a little sloppy during deliberations.
A note signed by the foreman informed U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve that the jury needed a new form to write down their findings on Rezko's guilt or innocence.
"Spilled coffee on the one we have," it read.
It was the latest message from a jury that has sent out more notes about its own schedule than any substantive issues. The jury got the case at the end of the day May 13.
The jury will be back at work Thursday morning—with a new verdict form supplied by the judge. In a note sent back to them Wednesday, St. Eve told jurors to hang on to the ruined document until they wrap up their work.
"P.S. No more coffee," Joseph Duffy, Rezko's lawyer, joked in court.

There better be a citizens watch on G-Rod as he might just slip out when Rezko is found guilty. Look Ken Lay got away with faking his death. Rezko must be busy making his phone calls to his friends in high places because if the jury comes back with guilty he will need some help. Time will tell just how powerfully connected Rezko is. Dennis is losing weight on this one. G-Rod is packing the bags with as much money as possible and looking for the exit and fueling up the plane.
