Gen Y Speaks
This reader is not alone:
I'll just put that out there. If Obama is done in by this whole Wright thing I am done with politics. I can't invest myself in something that is so sure to disappoint me time and time and time again. If the Democratic party decides that it can not risk nominating a great and decent African American man because his pastor is a scary African American man, it does not deserve power because it will have caved to what is worst about America. Racists on both sides of the divide will rejoice at having taking down the biggest threat to their belief system since Martin Luther King....and young people like myself will burrow deeper into to the holes we were in before Barack Obama dug us out.

Yes, if all they could get on Obama is something he personally did not do or say and they act like a dog with a bone on this, it is pretty sad.
I am sure Obama's gargbage man, barber, car mechanic or someone else said something out of sorts as well.......seriously, if Obama didn't do it, or say it himself.....I don't want to hear about it.
I can only wonder what is a great American? Obama is black is that what makes a great leader. Are blacks so taken with the image of a Black President that they know nothing about. Dr. King spoke more then the words I Have A Dream. He said look at the character of a man not the color. Obama is new to the scene of Politics as he even asked Hillary to help his run for the Senate. Now does a man ask an experienced person for help and in less then a year he knows more. Using Dr. King can only get you so far. I look at the Rev. Wright situation different. Wright was a friend for 20 years. Yes Obama was a young 27 year old looking for answers and chose Rev. Wright, who stand with him. Now after Iowa primary in comes the snakes to take over and it worked. If Obama can give up a 20 year friendship will he sell out America. Blacks are looking for a leader will Obama sell them out as he did Wright. Yes it's called he has his job and I've got mine. Did Dr. King sell out for a vote? Obama is playing with the big boys and he hasn't grown up yet. Politics will always be the same if only Americans would read the History. Lincoln is often spoken about yet few mention the fact he failed many times. Obama needs to grown and learn how to handle the job and be his own person. If he lets the others push him in and he fails this will be used as other African Americans try to reach their goals. We've had many great black leaders that were more that qualified to lead and had the experience yet never got the chance. Oprah said it's time but it's not. Take driving lessons before you drive or you will surely have an accident.
