Guilty pleas in the federal prostitution case that led to former Gov. Eliot Spitzer's downfall are imminent, with some possible Wednesday, according to a legal source familiar with the case.
The source, who didn't want to be identified because of the nature of the investigation, said by next Wednesday all of the four pending criminal cases should be wrapped up.
The four people arrested in March and accused of being part of an international call girl ring that supplied women to Spitzer and other customers have been in plea negotiations with prosecutors since that time, according to court records and defense attorneys familiar with the case.A spokeswoman for the Manhattan U.S. attorney's office declined to comment Tuesday.
The man officials say is the ringleader of the sex ring, Mark Brener, 62, has been in jail since March. His defense attorney, Murray Richman, said yesterday that he and federal prosecutors were working on a plea."We are moving forward to a disposition," said Richman, adding that any plea deal wouldn't require Brener to cooperate with the continuing investigation.

Brener likely will have to plead guilty to a money laundering offense.Attorneys for three others charged in the case -- Temeka Rachelle Lewis, 32, Cecil Suwal, 23, and Tanya Hollander, 36, -- didn't return telephone calls and e-mails seeking comment. The alleged prostitute involved with Spitzer, Ashley Alexandra Dupré, has not been charged in the case and has cooperated with authorities.
Court records on file in Manhattan Federal Court show that prosecutors have been given a number of extensions of the normal 30-day period in which to seek an indictment. That time period is 10 days in the case of a jailed defendant like Brener.
Ah, let's see...Let's compare Emperor VIP Club prostitution probe vs. Gov't's DC Madam case:
1. Prosecutors in the Emperor Club never was indicted the four defendants whereas gov't indicted Palfrey on federal racketeering and running a prostitution business.
2. Defendants in the Emperor Club never indicted under RICO. Palfrey was.
3. Emperor Club: Defendants faced up to years for money laundering. Palfrey faced up to 55 years.
4: Emperor Club: Spitzer was revealed as Client 9 was investigated and he later resigned as governor. Sen. Vitter's number found in Palfrey's telephone records. He admitted being on phone records but denied sex. Vitter was never investigated and still remain in office.
5: Emperor Club: Ashley who was the prostitute of Spitzer is not charged and is cooperating. Gov't in Palfrey's case gave immunity to former female employees of Palfrey immunity in exchage for testimony. The employees testified that Palfrey's business was a prostitution business.
6. Emperor Club: Gov't shielded names of the other nine clients or johns and prostitutes. Whereas, gov't wanted to expose the other 114 female employees's names in Palfrey case and shielded the male clients that either had or hadn't sex with female employees.
7. Emperor Club: U.S. and international internet business that provided prostitution. Palfrey's business was a legal sex fantasy escort service that advertised in the phone book and college campus newspaper.

Double triple standards...but they were sooo scared of little Ms Palfrey.
Well it looks like the Emprors Club and start up again international. Yes with the Rich customers business will continue. This was a small mistake on the GOP's part. They only wanted to replace Spitzer but they found out other Rich Republicans and International Power Players were customers too. Look the public brought it as usual and Spitzer resign. The problem was the Deputy Governor stepped in. Look for the GOP to trick the public again as it works. Now we see Republican Officials to the same and worse then Spitzer but the public wants these guys to stay in office and really couldn't care less if they hire prostitutes, solicit men for sex, molest kids and even worse.
Palfrey had a legal business that anyone can fine in the yellow pages. Her problem was the DOJ called it prostitution and the public as usual brought it hook line and sinker. Now it was the clients not Johns that caused Jean's problem. Yes with Americans not knowing the difference between Prostitution and Fantasy those names couldn't come to light.
I told a group of kids that Harry Potter is not real it's a Fantasy story nothing in it is real. But adults think Harry Potter is real and there is a Hogwarts. We see who the intelligent group is.
