This was too funny. There is no verdict yet in Rezko trial, yet, there is an arrest warrant out on him.
Talkleft:
Whatever the jury decides in the Chicago trial of Tony Rezko, his problems aren't over. A Nevada judge has issued a felony arrest warrant for him as a result of his alleged failure to pay gambling debts.
Antoin “Tony” Rezko, who is standing trial on federal corruption charges in Chicago, is wanted in Las Vegas for failing to pay $472,275 in gambling debts to Caesars Palace and Bally’s and related processing fees to the Clark County district attorney’s office.
The total unpaid Strip bill comes to more than $800,000, however, because the Bellagio obtained a judgment of default against Rezko a year ago for not repaying $331,000 in gambling markers.

Hi,
I'm not a lawyer. Never studied the law.
I seem to remember that the jury is not supposed to be tainted with any new information, while they are deliberating. What if a juror(s) hear about this development in the Rezko story. Can this affect the jury's ability to deliberate? Can the defense use this as a way of discrediting the jury process if the defense can prove the jury has been contaminated by the Rezko/gambling story?
Anon:
Good question. The jury instructions by the judge is that the jurors are not allowed to read newspapers, watch TV, etc. that is related or unrelated to the Rezko case. If a juror tells the judge that he/she heard about the Rezko warrant arrest for gambling debts from the news, newspaper or even word of mouth, then the judge most likely will remove the juror and replace will an alternate. Remember, the jurors took a sworn oath.
Made for TV, I tell ya...
Well, at least the casinos aren't like the good old days when someone wearing a bad suit buried the debtors in the sand. G-Rod wouldn't be in the hot seat where he belongs if someone named Vito sent Rezko to 'live underground' with the cacti a long time ago.

And someone has been watching too much of the "Sopranos." ;-)
