NY New Governor Patterson and Wife Both Admit to Extra-Marital Affairs

(h/t to Jeralyn at Talkleft.com)
New York Governor David Paterson and his wife told the New York Daily News they each had had extra-marital affairs.
In a stunning revelation, both Paterson, 53, and his wife, Michelle, 46, acknowledged in a joint interview they each had intimate relationships with others during a rocky period in their marriage several years ago.
In the course of several interviews in the past few days, Paterson said he maintained a relationship for two or three years with "a woman other than my wife," beginning in 1999.
What prompted the interviews? Threats of exposure:
The First Couple agreed to speak publicly about the difficulties in their marriage in response to a variety of rumors about Paterson's personal life that have been circulating in Albany and among the press corps in recent days.
Paterson and his former paramour trysted at a Manhattan Days Inn Hotel.
Asked if he had stayed with anyone else since 2001 at the same West Side hotel, Paterson said, "From time to time I used to take Michelle to that hotel."

Yup, and what can the GOP lawmakers do about it? Not a damn thing. What can they say to Patterson since he and wife admitted to extra-marital affairs? They shouldn't gotten rid of Spitzer. Patterson will be a person to reckon with. Patterson is in office to do a job for the state of NY.

I am so proud of Gov. Patterson he is my hero. Talk about egg in the face of the media and Republicans. Spitzer was sit up and his wife was attacked. I hope the sue the draws off the US Government/Bank/and anyone else. I was glad Gov. Patterson showed true friendship to Mr. Spitzer, it rare these days. Mrs. Patterson is not only pretty but smart too. No wonder Spitzer and Patterson are so strong look at the woman who their married to. Woman rule and this shows. I remember a saying my GrandMother told me behind every successful man there's a strong woman. All I could say when Gov. Patterson was sworn in office is
You Go Boy it's your time.
