McRove touts McCain’s adopted daughter he smeared in 2000.

Thinkprogress:

Last night on Fox News’s The O’Reilly Factor, Karl Rove discussed Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) “compelling” life story. In addition to his time as a prisoner of war, Rove pointed to the fact that McCain adopted a daughter from a Bangladesh orphanage:

And today, that young child — who was near death — is their teenage daughter. I don’t think most people understand the compassion and love that would come from a moment like that.

But as Nicole Belle
points out, as an adviser to the Bush campaign in 2000,

Rove attacked that young girl. From The Nation:

Rove invented a uniquely injurious fiction for his operatives to circulate via a phony poll. Voters were asked, “Would you be more or less likely to vote for John McCain…if you knew he had fathered an illegitimate black child?” This was no random slur. McCain was at the time campaigning with his dark-skinned daughter, Bridget, adopted from Bangladesh.

  1. So he adopted a child who needed help,..... but when his first wife needed help after a horrific car accident that had her in therapy for years, he left her and their small children, when they needed help, and he went on vacation in Hawaii and met his new wife, yep lot's of help to people in need, real compassion McCain has showncough, cough really family guy concerned for children, just ask his children from his first marraige who did not talk to him for years after that compassionate move.
