Iraq's Prez greets Ahmadinejad

Ahmadinejad arrives in Iraq...

Iranian president has been officially greeted by his Iraqi counterpart in a visit aimed to improve security in the war-stricken state. The Iranian head of state Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived Sunday in Baghdad for the first-ever trip by an Iranian president to Iraq, walking a red carpet past Iraqi troops in dress uniform to meet the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. He was greeted by Talabani.

A military honor guard saluted the two and a band played both national anthems as they walked slowly down the red carpet at Talabani's residency.

Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari told The Associated Press that Ahmadinejad plans to leave early Monday. Ahmadinejad is scheduled to hold meetings with Talabani and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, both of whom have made official visits to Iran since taking office. The US has said it will neither be involved nor provide security to Ahmadinejad visit.

Right.. Check this out. Is this a coincidence or on purpose?

Head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen is in Baghdad on an unannounced visit to meet with commanders and Iraqi officials.

A spokesman for the US-led forces in Iraq said Sunday Mullen heads a council of senior admirals and generals from the four US military branches that advises US President George W. Bush on military policy, AFP reported.

"I can confirm Admiral Mullen arrived in Baghdad Saturday to meet with commanders and Iraqi officials," the spokesman said.

The visit coincides with the arrival in Baghdad of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the first ever visit of an Iranian president to Iraq.

The U.S. should not be responsible for the security of the Iranians because if something did go wrong, then the U.S. would get the blame.

The U.S. blows enough of my tax dollars all over the place; they don't need to blow it on the Iranians. They need to pay for their own security.

Good luck to the visit. At this point, I don't care who makes peace deals with whom, as long as people stop getting killed and the civilians stop suffering.

Oh my cat. I to hope peace will come with these two countries as well as the rest. It's important that the US stay out of it as they aren't interested in peace but oil control. Now your right we shouldn't be paying for security but it's Bush's way of easdropping on the two Leaders.

I don't think security is needed as this visit was announced and it's open on TV. I did notice how Bush snicks in at night and snicks out. As the report of any visit to Iraq is after he's gone. I wonder is it because his life would be in danger in the country he's given 1 Trillion dollars of American taxpayers money to.

I hope one day to visit Iran and meet with both the President and the Supreme Leader. Yes I have alot of questions but will show respect for their culture.

Interesting how we have to pay for the security of the Iranians, meaning the taxpayers. I wouldn't be surprised if we have to pay for the military Sunday visit to Iraq.
