G-Rod's office releases 2 federal subpoenas

SPRINGFIELD-Gov. Blagojevich’s office late Friday released two federal subpoenas it received last year that sought hiring information and computer data.

But it is unclear from the documents why federal investigators requested the information.

The release of the subpoenas came just before a Monday court hearing in which a judge is expected to decide whether the Blagojevich administration has to make public all of the subpoenas it has received in a far-ranging federal corruption probe.

The Better Government Association sued to gain access to those documents. And in late February, the governor’s office produced a letter from U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald’s office asking that federal subpoenas remain private, except for the two that Blagojevich released late Friday.

One of the subpoenas asks for all documents related to “grading scales” for particular job titles in the Corrections Department and the Commerce and Economic Opportunity Department.

The other sought a broad range of computer data through June 23, 2006 from the governor’s office and 17 state agencies.

“We've worked hard to comply with the U.S. attorney’s direction not to disclose or discuss subpoenas. They recently informed us that it was no longer necessary to keep these two subpoenas confidential,” Blagojevich spokeswoman Abby Ottenhoff said.

How many subpoenas does Blah-blah-blahgo have?

And why does the Illinois taxpayer have to pay millions to his lawyers at Winston & Strawn?

Did Fitz KNOW that Not-so-hot-Rod and former head of Winston/ex-G Jim Thompson were thisclose?

If an elected official commits crimes while in office, is he 'above the law'? If not, why the heck bother to run for office? The pay is not so great, but the fringe benefits: thieving, whoring, getting away with murder, games, games, and more games, while moving up higher in the elected office game, until you make President.

Hey Thanks CA!

No one accused G-Rod of whoring, to my knowledge. Where's that lady who dated Marv Albert? I think anyone with G-Rod needs to have a thing for hair pieces.

Blech.

P.S. Yeah, G-Rod claims the hair is real. He didn't really specify if that is his real hair still attached, or someone else's "real" hair attached in a rug.

SPB why do you call this dude G-Rod? I thought a baseball player was called that name.

Now as for the comments I've tried to follow this mess on this website as I live in California and we have our own problems. This G-Rod isn't the only Gov. who is up to his/her neck in corruption. Most officials took their lead from the White House as Bush made crime legal. Fitz is up to his neck in corruption in Illinois. He isn't Superman you know. Even Superman couldn't put out all the criminal fires in that State. The people of Illinois voted G-Rod in why can't they just vote him out? Americans seem to look for someone else to do what they can do themselves.

G-Rod stands for Governor Rod. His last name is Blagojevich.

People in Illnois need to get together and get enough signatures to place the governor's name on a ballot for a recall. Fitzgerald is not the only USA in Illnois that can fix every single problem in Illinois. There more than one USAs that serve for the state of Illnois.

Pat Quinn (Lt. Governor of IL) would make a great Governor.
But as we all know, from seeing former Governor Ryan 13 years later is in jail, this also will take at least a decade.

Oh by the way former Gov. Ryan was moved to a Jail in Indiana because the one in Wisc. was made a 70 yrs old and younger facility because they did not want to take on older inmates health issues. So Ryan is now an inmate of Indiana.

Jackie--A-Rod is Alex Rodriguez, a very overpaid baseball player for the Yankees.

It fits. Both A-Rod and G-Rod are selfish people who think of themselves first.

G-Rod got re-elected because the silly Republicans ran Governor Orange Jumpsuit's state treasurer against G-Rod. There was some nice Republican lady a few years back--the Republicans screwed her politically, then I think she died of cancer. I cannot remember her name.

Thanks for the info on Indiana.

I love the cat. Thank You Mr. Bowtie for the info. I knew I heard that name I just forget it was A-Rod I now remember it's that young baseball player. Now Mr. Kitty as for the baseball players salary. I can only think how much the owners are making. Yes the players do get alot of money, but if they played for less or free the owners would still be raking in the money. I remember when players and owners wanted the people to enjoy the game. I use to go to minor league games. I think the fee was what you wanted to give. Now this might sound strange Mr. Kitty but Major Baseball games in New York with a good sit cost 5 dollars. I love blogging to the cat ok you to TGCN and Markie too.
