Asked on MSNBC’s Hardball about Vice President Dick Cheney’s dismissive lack of concern with American public opinion about Iraq, former Republican Sen. Lincoln Chafee responded, “that is Vice President Cheney. He’s one of the most arrogant people I’ve ever come across.” Chafee added that he’s known Cheney as “a very very arrogant man” ever since “the very first time I met him at a breakfast right after the Supreme Court endorsed him” in 2000.

Chafee, who officially left the GOP last year, was the only Republican to vote against the Iraq War.
