Bush's 2009 budget.

President Bush's 2009 budget "will total more than $3 trillion, the first time that barrier has been broken." "The budget plan projects big increases in federal budget deficits, to about $400 billion for both fiscal 2008 and fiscal 2009." Bush's "trail of deficits and debt" will "sharply constrain his successor."

Doomsayers have been warning for years of an approaching tsunami of health and retirement costs. What has changed is that the next president will actually have to confront the doom.

yes this is coming up as the baby boomers are rapidly approaching retirement,

and the surplus was supposed to last until 2011? Wow the Gerbil blew through that the first part of the first term.

Too many are watching "Breaking news?" and think breaking news is some Bimbo having a crisis and going to the hospital, that is a new low for the news stations, with so much significant things going on they are so out of touch with what breaking news is.
