NYT endorses Hillary and dumps Rudy.

Talkleft:

This is big. The New York Times has
endorsed Hillary Clinton for President. It's no tepid endorsement. It "strongly recommends" her candidacy.

On the Republican side,
the New York Times endorses John McCain. That's not a story. The story is why it says it doesn't support Giuliani.

The real Mr. Giuliani, whom many New Yorkers came to know and mistrust, is a narrow, obsessively secretive, vindictive man who saw no need to limit police power. Racial polarization was as much a legacy of his tenure as the rebirth of Times Square.

Mr. Giuliani’s arrogance and bad judgment are breathtaking. When he claims fiscal prudence, we remember how he ran through surpluses without a thought to the inevitable downturn and bequeathed huge deficits to his successor. He fired Police Commissioner William Bratton, the architect of the drop in crime, because he couldn’t share the limelight. He later gave the job to Bernard Kerik, who has now been indicted on fraud and corruption charges.

The Rudolph Giuliani of 2008 first shamelessly turned the horror of 9/11 into a lucrative business, with a secret client list, then exploited his city’s and the country’s nightmare to promote his presidential campaign.

Rudy is hosed for sure. I read things in the NYT was all the stuff I knew about and some things I didn't. No one believed me out here in California that Rudy was a liar, crook and thief now it's in print. The closet door is open for all to see. Now to be fair he started out ok but once he got the job it was down hill from there.
The report is the worse I've seen about a candidate in a long time.
Rudy just lost any minority votes in any State.

Oh Mr. Kitty my girl Hill got the endorsement and I am still smiling. Please just be happy for me this time.

Hmm, let me guess. I bet Rudy did not donate *all* of the money for the sale of his book to victims.

For once, the New York Times make a good choice. There's nobody on the Republican side to pick from but some are worse than others. They really laid it out about Rudy's egomania.

What a nice way to let this country know, these victims, aren't going to put up with this charade anymore. Coming from his home state this speaks volumes.
