Former LA Times editor: Too much Britney Spears.

Crooks and Liars:

Lastly I want to make it clear that I didn’t quit. Anyone in a top newsroom management job during tough times always wrestles with a crucial question: Where is the line? At what point do you go from “I can deal with this” to “this is simply wrong. ”

We need to tell readers more about Barack Obama and less about Britney Spears…read his full statement.

Best headline of 2008 so far. Amen.

We had our top local news team of Carol Marin and Ron Majors quit over Jerry Springer being hired as a commentator. They said they were into serious news and that bringing him on was degrading to news.
Now Carol Marin is on Chicago Tonight, writes for the SunTimes, is a political reporter on NBC 5, and Ron Majors is doing a good job as anchor on ABC 7.

Seriously people only care about these Bimbo's (pick your Bimbo) because it's in your face all the time like it's important.

If more would quit because they do not want to participate in airwave pollution, then something would be done, like turning the news into real news, news that affects everyone, real newsworthy events, educating the public so they can vote responsibly on things that really matter.

When I check out at the grocery story all these rags are there with all these celebrities whom I don't know even 5% of them, why don't they put Time, Newsweek, Business Week or something intelligent at the checkout lanes? Maybe then when it's in people's faces they will realize the bigger picture of what really matters.

And Faux Noose.......ok, ok I'll get off my soapbox now.

Yeah, both Carol Marin and Ron Majors are good. I forgot about the Springer thing. Which idiotic Chicago station tried that?

How about the reporter who took her kids swimming at the house of the guy whose wife disappeared? Not Drew Peterson/Stacy Peterson, the other dead wife/psycho husband of the month.

NBC 5 which after years hired Marin back as a political reporter.

Amy Jacobsen is the reporter who lost her job for the swim.

And yes Steve Dahls radio station put a stop to the Dating game Steve was going to have on Thursday morning, as a matter of fact they don't want Drew Peterson on the show until he is exonerated. (if he is)
