Exxon's profits soar while taxpayers are in a recession.

Thinkprogress:

With a flailing U.S. economy and skyrocketing oil prices, Exxon Mobil is “within striking distance of setting an all-time profit record - again.” The company is expected to earn $39.2 billion for 2007, “which breaks down to the company earning about $75,000 a minute.”

As Americans see their homes lost and jobs lost they can be proud the Oil Companies have their tax dollars. Notice you hear no out cry from the American people as their being openly robbed. You really can't blame the Oil Company as if people allow you to openly rob them just keep going back for more. It's like sitting in your home while the robber is taking your things as you just set there and do or say nothing. He will keep doing it as long as he can or until everything is gone.

RFK Jr. said it best: "It's nuts to let corporations anywheres near our democracy."
