The $100,000-a-year communications director for Cook County Board President Todd Stroger apologized Friday for posing as a radio show caller supportive of his boss.
Stroger spokesman Andre Garner told WGN-AM's John Williams he had a "terrible lapse in judgment" in phoning in as "Jonathan from Chicago" during a Stroger appearance on Williams' show Thursday.
Stroger had been defending his stalled plan to increase the county sales tax by 2 percentage points when Garner called to suggest tax foes were pitching "just gloom and doom, the world's going to fall in" when that was not the case.
Garner said Stroger didn't know of his intention to call in.

What type of people are being put in office in Illinois. It's all Mr. Kitty's fault he's to blame. I know TGCN didn't vote for Todd it had to be the cat. Now what happen to the lady with drugs but said it was sugar. What is really going on in the State of Illinois. All I hear about it elected officials committing crimes. I say get Todd, Bolognie and Lisa Lisa Cult Jam out and start over. Mark the snake has moved to the DOJ in hopes of pushing Mike out of the top spot.
Former 20th Ward Alderman Arenda Troutman was defeated in election by a former Police Sergeant Willie Cochran. We will have to wait for trial to really find out what it is. And Arenda was shocked after almost 20 years she lost, and wanted a recount.....ya....the people in her Ward got tired of her, especially since she does not even know her own Ward boundaries and took a bribe from a contractor (undercover FBI) in the next Ward. OK so it was accross the street from her Ward, but she was Alderman enough years to know where her Ward ended.
Crook County....I have to admit we do have a handful of good Commissioners, just a handful.
The Toddler did CC State's Attorney in and he won't run for the next election. We have a few CC Commissioners, and the CC Sheriff expressing interest in the run. This is going to be a very entertaining race.
I am now suffering from Bear withdrawl, at least they won their last two games, now I have to wait for the White Sox.
