Thompson: "We decided to give Iowa voters a break today"

Former Tennessee senator, actor and mummy Fred Thompson spent New Years Day watching football. He made one appearance, at a veterans home in Marshalltown, Iowa. According to the Des Moines Register, Thompson also may have indulged in a siesta.
He said he took a nap Tuesday then quickly added that he was joking when no one in the press corps covering him laughed.
I would have loved to watch Arkansas play Missouri in the Cotton Bowl yesterday, but I spent the day hiking around freezing east Des Moines to report a story.
He took a nap! LOL!

Well SPB after Thursday Grampa will have all the time he needs to rest and take those naps. He's hosed and he knows it. As for the fire in the belly it was to help his campaign wake up we see it didn't.

I was listening to some of the events in Iowa. Seems there are a lot of older folks attending, and these people think Thompson is old.
Yep, time to find a nice retirement home, or a good rocker so he can watch the rest of the elections on television, between nodding off.
