Go Bud!
BLT:
One of the nine U.S. attorneys pink-slipped during the firing scandal that led to the unraveling of the Justice Department is now calling for Justice’s communications director, Brian Roehrkasse, to step down. According to the WaPo, former U.S. attorney Bud Cummins said in a recent speech and a magazine article that Roehrkasse was an integral part of the Bush administration’s “deception” campaign about the firings. Cummins points out that then Attorney General Alberto Gonzales promoted Roehrkasse to be the Justice Department’s head of public affairs in August even as more than a dozen other senior aides had resigned in the wake of the controversy.
