Putin and Chirac both tried to tell the Gerbil he was being stupid back in 2002 & 2003. Putin offered help in Afghanistan back in 2001 & 2002, too. Who knows better the word QUAGMIRE for Afghanistan than the Russians.

I see someone from Fannie Mae got thrown under the bus. That person can expect no help now.

SPB your report on Putin's comments says it all and why he was picked as Person of the Year. He leadership, education and power shows why he is number one and the Gerbil is at the bottom of the list. I always thought Putin remind me of a young John F. Kennedy. For those to young to remember John Kennedy brought the US to realize we're all equal and to be the leaders of the world we must first join as one nation. Those days we were use to old Presidents until Kennedy got to be President. I remember our teacher telling us to write the President we laughed so be did the project. Yes it was a letter that we all made a question or comment. To our surprise we got an answer from the President. It was published in the paper and our teacher gave us copies. Now Bill, Hillary, Al and I are all in the same age group. We were all moved to become better Americans because of one man John Fitzgerald Kennedy. After seeing and hearing the horrors of how blacks were treated and I was even called the N word. Once Kennedy took office he told all of us young Americans that we all were Americans of all colors and equal to each other.
Now Putin shows the same leadership for his country. As the Gerbil makes enemies and lies about everything Putin is moving ahead with wisdom. History will show Putin among one of the Greatest Presidents Russia ever had. Like him or not he's the man of this time in History and his actions show it.
