Palfrey Wants Diaperman Vitter Behind Bars.

Neal Augenstein, WTOP Radio

WASHINGTON - The alleged D.C. madam wants to put Sen. David Vitter, R-La., behind bars.
In a court filing in Deborah Jeane Palfrey's racketeering and money laundering case, her attorney argues Vitter and former Deputy Secretary of State Randall Tobias have not responded to subpoenas, and should be held in contempt of court.

Before this most recent filing, the judge quashed all subpoenas in the case. Palfrey wants to subpoena former customers, to have them describe their relationships with her former escorts.

In e-mails, Palfrey has told WTOP she believes one of her escorts "was a favorite of Mr. Vitter's," but says any sex-for-payment arrangement would have been outside the structure of her legal escort business.

Vitter's telephone number was included on phone records of Palfrey's company, Pamela Martin and Associates. In an apology he said the calls date back to before he ran for the Senate in 2004. At the time he was in the House of Representatives.

Palfrey faces federal racketeering and money laundering charges in U.S. District Court in Washington for allegedly running a prostitution ring. Palfrey maintains her company provided legal escort services in the nation's capital, catering to adult fantasies from 1993 until 2006.
