Oops, 28 million MIA…

TPM:

Spencer Ackerman has more from the motherload that his FOIA request to the State Department has yielded.

Today, it's an internal September 2007 State Department report on how bad the department's own accounting practices are in Afghanistan, where $28.4 million in U.S. government property issued to contractors Dyncorp and Blackwater cannot be accounted for.

We're Americans we have money to burn. Look our own Government is stealing from taxpayer right in front of our faces and bragging about it in the Press. Martha Stewart was falsely charged with inside trading now the White House has been letting Goldman Sachs get inside information as with the sub prime. Notice how all the large companies were burned by sub prime but not Golden Sachs. Once Paul O'Neill pointed out the crime to the White House, O'Neill was fired. Then the White House leaked the info to Goldman Sachs and as you see Goldman Sachs is the only company making big profits and buying out other companies. Illegal inside trading and information is legal for friends of the White House, but illegal for others.

What a sad day--when I read this all I could think of was: Whew! It could have been much worse, with hundreds of millions missing.

But the last I checked, we will hit $10 trillion in debt before 2008 closes out so we don't have any dollars or even pennies to burn.

Hmmmm, after looking at the debt clock, I bet we hit $10 billion in debt before spring is even over.
