Bob Schieffer Commentary: CIA Torture Tapes & The Message Of Edward R. Murrow.

Go Bob!

Crooks and Liars:

Bob Schieffer’s commentary on today’s Face The Nation looks at the growing CIA torture tape scandal and notes Edward R. Murrow’s belief that sometimes it’s not our actions that do the most damage, it’s the message we send when we act inappropriately that can truly do the most harm.
Schieffer: “Is THAT our message to the world? That we are a government of laws except when it is inconvenient? If so, then what was done in the name of security has greatly harmed security. Weapons keep our enemies at bay, but our real security risks are whether the rest of the world comes to share our values, or the values of those who oppose us.”

I got to see the end of Bob's show. He always it's the bottom line. We have no more Journalist like Edward R. Murrow.

Go Bob go!

Maybe he is looking towards retirement but wants to give everyone the smack down before he goes.

There's no Walter Cronkiet (can't spell that) either. Journalism took a crash when Dan Rather replaced him.

CNN sux, too. It hasn't been good overall in YEARS. Anderson Cooper must need to be on "60 Minutes" to feel cleaner.

P.S. Those gorillas Cooper 'played with' last night on "60 Minutes" are probably cleaner than Beck. We know those gorillas are better behaved and have better manners than Beck.

I saw 60 minutes last night. I like Anderson Cooper. And he is very good reporter. They need to dump horseface Couric and have her trained by Cooper.

They need to dump Couric and put her to work in the mailroom.
